Reason for Nomination:
Well where do we start with this individual! An absolute prime text book example of a compassionate, caring and exemplary leader and we are lucky to have her leading community nursing services. I am honoured to have the opportunity to nominate her for an award as she is oblivious to how much of a positive impact she has on me. She is truly inspiring and a role model to myself and colleagues. Despite her workload demand and role within division, she takes the time to speak to colleagues, offering time to explore development opportunities and is always interested in discussions that will develop my understanding and knowledge and also develop services. She is very keen and compassionate about service provision and gets excited in discussions about changes and opportunities to develop and enhance service delivery and looking at new ways of working. Time and time again , she demonstrates care and compassion for individuals and making sure staff are ok. She easily recognises when staff may not be their usual self and offers support and time to explore any concerns. She oozes compassion, understanding, kindness and respect and creates a positive and enjoyable working environment. Recently we have moved base to Dean Clough and she has been outstanding in supporting staff and addressing concerns to reassure colleagues that this will be a positive change and improve ways of working. Although we have been very anxious about this change, she has made the process much more seamless, inviting us to meetings, having open and honest discussions and exploring concerns. This has been extremely reassuring as we have felt listened to and she has alleviated any unnecessary stress and pressure that we thought this move would cause. Her open and honest approach to the move, has strengthened our working relationship, highlighted and reaffirmed her priorities as a leader and demonstrated that she does truly care about service provision and patients and colleagues alike.
How has the nominee positively impacted you, the team, the organisation or the health service?
A warming and outspoken individual always making time for checking in with colleagues and being available for supportive conversations. She inspires me to explore options and opportunities to develop and progress. She boosts morale and has been outstanding in supporting with the move to Dean Clough in recent weeks. I know that if I am having a bad day, one discussion with her, can positively influence my mindset and inspire me to continue to work together to achieve and improve ways of working and inspire teams alike.
Additional Comments/Testimonials:
I have the utmost respect and admiration for her and feel that she has demonstrated to me that regardless of our roles and bands in the Trust, we are human and individuals first and caring for each other is the foundation from which we lead compassionately. She is a credit to CHFT and brightens up every day and every room! A true hero.
